We Watched

We watched the news day after day,
touched as they worked, frolicked, and played.

Oh we knew they were busy doing tests,
but in between
our eyes were sure blessed.

Blessed to see them each with a smile,
that they loved what they did allows no denial.

We watched them work, eat, and play,
they inspired us all in such a big way.

We watched as they headed back,
that each would be lovingly received is a fact.

We watched in horror a site we’ll never forget,
a site that brings pain filled sorrow yet.

We watched the approach as they were coming in,
only to see travesty hit Nasa once again.

We watched in horror the shuttle’s demise,
as it burst into pieces right before our eyes.

We watched but yet didn’t fully comprehend,
we’d just seen these seven lives come to an end.

We watched but we weren’t watching alone,
God watched and was waiting to welcome Home His own.

~Some Gave All ...

In loving memory of the 7 astronauts from
STS107 Columbia Space Shuttle
who died February 1, 2003

Our hearts go out
to the bright young men and women,
their friends and loved ones.
We will never forget the sacrifice of those
who gave their lives.

The same Creator who names the stars
also knows the names of the seven souls
we mourn today

May they rest in eternal peace.

God Bless All~

All Americans today are thinking, as well,
of the families of these men and women
who have been given this sudden shock and grief.
You are not alone.
Our entire nation grieves with you,
and those you love
will always have the respect and gratitude
of this country

 President George W. Bush
