MY HOLY BIBLE

My Holy Bible is where I go when I need to know the truth,
I learned to do this just after passing through my youth.

I learned to seek for the truths that are written there,
this is how I learned how very much God does care.

It was not an instant revelation
it took awhile this truth to find,
but I can tell you it is now locked deep within my mind.

Whenever opening up God's Holy Word,
I asked for help of the Spirit
and something wonderful occurred.

Where before the writing was not clear to me,
my eyes were opened and I was allowed to see.

I used to feel salvation was earned in some way,
now I declare loudly what the Bible has to say.

Salvation is a gift offered absolutely free,
offered to each and everyone including you and me.

God does not will that even one soul should be lost,
He provided salvation at a very high cost.

Believe what you read, repent of your sin,
accept salvation and invite Jesus in.

Confess with your mouth what has happened to you,
invite others to partake of salvation too.

My Holy Bible is what has led me to the Salvation Plan,
and I strive to share it's truth with everyone I can.

If I Were A Sponge

If I were a sponge what would I absorb,
I pray I would be filled with things of the Lord!

I'd pray each day as I awake that I'd remember;
that I must without reservation willingly surrender.

I'd must diligently study His Holy Word,
and recognize the wisdom of the sermons that I'd heard.

I'd pray for eyes that'd see only the things I should,
and ears that would reject anything not good.

I'd want to recognize each Blessing God sends my way,
and to give Him Praises all through the day.

I'd want everything God so lovingly offers me;
I want to be completely and absolutely filled to capacity.

Then when trials and tribulations pressed on down,
I wouldn't be found wearing a self pitying frown.

When I was squeezed as tight as could be,
what I was filled with would be what came out of me.

My loving Father and all of His grace,
would be what others see when they look on my face.

Because what is daily absorbed is what will always escape,
this is a fact not open for debate.

If I were a sponge and you squeezed me,
the precious love of God is what you'd see!
